Today has been... a Monday. Sleep in a little, school, lunch, school, dance, family home evening, homework... well blog first, I decided this is kind of like my journal so it kind of makes sense that I give it a little priority. I like this blog.

I am still pretty satisfied with life today, which is kind of a surprise because I have actually been satisfied for the past three days, thats a pretty sweet record, I might have even been satisfied before that, it just took me a bit to notice that there wasn't anything pestering at me.

This picture is one that I took that was not set up but happened by accident. As I went to the bathroom today during school, I noticed this paper in the sink and I flipped it over. I saw that it said superficial and the setting of it on the drain really spoke to me so I pulled out my phone and took a picture. This moment made me glad for my good camera on my phone because I love taking pictures and if this had been blurry, the message wouldn't have been half as satisfactory. Overall, don't be superficial, and life will be overall, better, at least if you are overall not superficial.

Just in case you were curious, here is a quick definition:

superficial:

1. adj - concerned with or comprehending only what is apparent or obvious

2. adj - of little substance or significance

3. adj - of, affecting, or being on or near the surface

I will let you choose which definition you like best and you can interpret the message for yourself.

I don't know what prompted me to put those lyrics maybe because I like Manhattan, maybe because I like the imagery, that's probably the right guess because when you think about it, everyone is a Manhattan from the sky, they look simple and easily predictable from far away, but when you jump inside and walk around and learn and investigate, and love, and adventure, and care, you will find out so much more than that first judgement you made from the sky. I guess what I am trying to say is love people, walk around and find out more about them, make them part of your life, but in the end make sure you actually care or none of that investigation is actually worth it. Because what is anything without care.
